Spaghetti Bolognaise Recipe

My own very special Spaghetti Bolognaise Recipe adapted especially for the crock pot.

I was wondering what we were going to have for dinner the other morning and thought it was time for spag bol again. And since I am so busy writing this site, I suddenly decided I should make it in the crock pot.

And it turned out great. Neil gave it the “make again” certified tick of approval. And thus it made it on to ‘a-crock-cook.com’.

As with most our recipes, the measurements are just a guide. Feel free to add more or less of anything.

Crock Pot Bolognaise Recipe
Ingredients
3 carrots	peeled and grated
2 cobs corn	kernels cut off
2 tsp	crushed ginger we used ginger out of a bottle
2 tsp	crushed garlic we used garlic out of a bottle
2¼lb (1 kg)	ground beef (mince meat)
1¼ pint (800ml)	Tomato Soup. Large tin or 2 small tins.
¾ cup (170g)	Tomato Paste
1 tbls	Spaghetti Bolognaise Mixed Herbs
½ cup	Brown Sugar
	Salt and Pepper
Optional	try also bacon, mushrooms or peas.
Method
1.	Place carrot, corn, garlic, ginger, meat, tomato soup, tomato paste in pot and stir to combine.
2.	Cover and cook for 8-9hours on Low OR 4-5hours on High.
3.	During last hour of cooking add herbs, brown sugar, salt and pepper – vary to taste.
4.	Cook up spaghetti or favourite pasta
5.	Eat and enjoy
Notes
Serves 6-8 Add or substitute vegetables as needed The brown sugar helps brings out the tomato flavour – don’t be afraid to use it – may need more or less depending on taste. Tastes great, slightly finer texture than when cooked in the pan.
