Crock Pot Baked Beans
Baked beans are a favorite of many. But it seems that no one is really sure where they originally came from.
Some belive that baked beans are derived from a Native American dish in which beans were cooked with maple syrup and fat. And that European settlers changed the recipe to using pork and molasses.
Alternatively some believe that the recipe for baked beans come from that classic French bean stew - Cassoulet.
Do we care? Not really, as long as they taste good we don't mind where they came from.

THE KING'S BAKED BEANS
Here is my baked bean recipe. I have had many many compliments on it.
2 tsp olive oil
1 large cooking onion diced
1/2 medium bell pepper diced
2-15 1/2oz cans reg pork and beans
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbl yellow mustard
1/2 cup ketchup
1/3 cup bbq sauce
1 tbl liquid smoke
1/4 cup dark karo syrup
1/4 cup clover honey
1 large cloves fresh garlic minced
5/6 slices bacon cooked and diced
1 tsp accent
1 tsp lawry's seasoning salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tbl salt
1# ground beef cooked drained & crumbled
DIRECTIONS:
Saute onion and bell pepper in olive oil until tender.
Mix all ingredients and place in medium size crock pot.
Turn on low and cook for 8/10 hours.
