Crock Pot Thanksgiving Recipe
|
|
|
This sounds like a great recipe for a couple, or small family that doesn't like to have a months worth of turkey after Thanksgiving. Neil and I will try this with just a breast, which is just the right amount for the two of us.

Crock Pot Thanksgiving Recipe
Butter
Chicken stock
1 small turkey (or turkey Breast)
1 bay leaf
3 ribs of celery chopped
1 small onion chopped
1 carrot chopped
2 Parsnips chopped
1 small rutabega cubed
4-6 small potatos
Add butter and stock to crock pot and melt.
Add bay leaf, vegetables and meat.
Cook until done (6-8 hrs) Later add one potato for each person eating.
Season with salt and pepper.
Scoop out the cooked vegetables from the pot and mash together.
Add the meat back to the liquid (minus one cup) and shred, it should readily fall off the bone.
Take the reserved liquid and use to make a gravy.
You can also use chicken.
