Crock Pot Whole Chicken Recipe

|
|
This Crock Pot Whole Chicken Recipe was sent to us by Cheri and once again it proves how easy the crock pot is to use.
Now this recipe is for a basic crock pot roast chicken but the variations are endless. You could include your favorite herbs in the rub or choose chicken salt or other flavored salts, instead of plain salt.
Another visitor to our site sent us this Slow Cooker Whole Chicken Recipe - which uses some interesting ingredients for another flavor variation.
Also, consider some stuffing for even more variation in flavor. A lemon cut in wedges and stuffed inside the chicken adds a fantastic lemon flavor to the meat.
If you have a trivet that fits inside your Crock Pot then you can use this instead of the foil.
Use this fantastic easy chicken recipe and put your own twist on it - as that is what cooking should be all about.

Crock Pot Roasted Chicken Recipe
1 3-4 pound whole chicken
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
Foil
Rub outside of chicken with olive oil, salt and pepper.
Crumple foil into 3 tennis ball-sized balls and place the balls of foil in the crock pot.
Place the chicken (breast side down) on top of the foil balls.
Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
Notes
You can defat the drippings and make a sauce or freeze the stock for a later use.
