Holiday Hot-Buttered Almond Snack

Visitor Recipe

Great little snack! Like all my crock pot recipes, quick with few ingredients.

Good, quick, easy and great for the holidays.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 2 hours

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter
1 pound whole, raw almonds (or pecans, if you prefer)
1 ½ tablespoons kosher salt

Method:
1. Put your slow cooker on HIGH and place the butter in crock; allow butter to melt. Once it melts, turn slow cooker to LOW setting and add nuts. Stir to coat the nuts with butter.

2. Cover and cook for 2 hours, stirring several times during cooking process.

3. When done cooking, add the salt and toss to coat the nuts well. Let nuts cool, uncovered. Store in a tightly covered container until serving (if you don’t eat them all first!)

Thanks Tanya

Sounds like you have discovered a neat way to cook nuts in the crock pot - but I bet not many get stored away!

Happy Cooking

Sounds good!

I'm going to have to try this, I never thought of cooking nuts this way. I've caramelized them but not in a crock. Thanks for the snack idea!

Salty good!

These are good and so easy! I have another recipe for nuts (that is similar to this one) that is made using real maple syrup. I love them because I like sweet foods, but I put this one on here for the salt lovers. These you can put in a bowl.
