Mackies Fancy Crock Pot Oatmeal Recipe

Neil and I new of some of the health benefits of eating oatmeal, but this is amazing!

Mackies Fancy Crock Pot Oatmeal Recipe
6 cups of skim milk
2 1/2 cups 20 minute oatmeal ( any brand)
2 diced apples
1/2 cup diced walnuts or pecans ( smaller the better)
pinch of cinnimon ( to Taste)
pinch of salt ( optional)
1/2 cup raisins ( or craisins)to taste
coconut oil ( best for heart healthy diet & weight loss)
** please substitute with cooking spray if you have a food allergy towards coconut oil or nuts
In a large crock pot-grease pot with coconut oil.
Add 6 cups COLD skim milk.
Add 2 1/2 cups oatmeal and mix with the pinch of salt.
Place on low cooking setting on crockpot.
Add raisins, nuts and apples to taste and let simmer for 8-9 hours.
Cooking time for high setting would be 4-5 hours.
Stir on occassion.
This oatmeal comes out creamy and so good!
After a physical, my husband was diagnosed with extremely high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
His life was in danger and he needed a dietary change right away.
My mother is a registered nurse and dietician in New York.
She gave us some life saving heart healthy recipe's for her famous heart healthy oatmeal.
I make the large batch, because he needs to eat this on a daily basis.
I make this batch and he can eat for 4 days.
So I try to make 2 times per week.
When he needs a change he gets egg whites.
They Key was healthy and delicious or he would not eat it.
NOTE- He has lost a total of 88 pounds in 7 months and has a clean bill of health!
