Slow Cooker Apple Butter

Neil did experiment with a few crock pot jam and butter recipes but none were good enough to share. So when, Jill offered a couple of her crock pot jam recipes, we jumped at the chance.

It needs to be noted that for this Slow Cooker Apple Butter Recipe, Jill uses a 'West Bend' that's on it's own stand-alone base and uses setting #2.
"OK - I use a West Bend crockpot to do my jams - it's a six quart on a base"

Some further experimentation will need to be done to work out what setting you will need in your own crock pot.

Crock Pot Apple Butter

2 large jars unsweetened applesauce
1 1/2 cups cane sugar
1 1/2 tbsps cinnamon
1 tsp allspice

Cook down 6-8 hrs, on setting 2 ....spoon into jars.
