Slow Cooker My Never Fail Beef Stew Recipe

Sherry shares with us her "never fail" crock pot beef stew.
1 1/2 lbs Stew meat
4 lrg or 6-8 small Potatoes cut up to 1 1/2" cubes
6-8ozs Baby Carrots sliced up
2 cans Beef Broth
1 Lrg green Onion diced up or 10 sm. white boiling onions
1Tbls fresh chopped Parsley or 1 tsp.dried Parsley flakes
1Tbls Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp Minced Garlic
1/2 tsp Salt
1/8 tsp Pepper
1 Bay Leaf
1/4 cup Barley(optional)
3 Tbls Canola Oil
3 Tbls Wondra or cornstarch
3 Tbls Water
For Beef Coating you'll need:
1/3 cup flour
1/8 tsp salt
2 dashes pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
In a sealable Plastic bag combine 1/3 cup flour, 1/8tsp salt, 2 dashes of pepper & 1/2 tsp garlic powder.
Add Stew Meat, and coat well.
In frying pan add 3 Tbls Canola Oil and sear Meat to seal in juices.
In a sm bowl combine Beef broth, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, minced garlic, Bay Leaf & Barley (optional).
In Crock Pot place Potatoes, Carrots & chopped Onion or boiling onions.
Add Seared Beef and pour Broth mixture over vegetables & Beef.
Cover & cook on Low 8-10 Hrs.
About 20 mins before done turn to High and combine in a small cont w/lid: 3 Tbls Wondra & 3 Tbls Water.
Shake untill disolved then stir it into stew.
Cover until thickened stirring occasionaly for 15-20 mins.
