Slow Cooker Oatmeal Recipe

Wake up to freshly cooked Slow Cooker Oatmeal every morning.

Neil perfected the original Slow Cooker Oatmeal Recipe that we enjoy heaps.

But this one sounds pretty good to. Full of fruit and nuts. And comes from Della of the United States.

Fruit and Nut Oatmeal

My mother mixes dried milk, sultanas, shredded coconut and sliced almonds into the dry oatmeal then cooks with just water.

It's a little of this/little of that type of recipe for the coconut and almonds, personal preference.

I probably would suggest using the amount of dry milk that would equate to the same amount of real milk of your original recipe.

{Original Recipe: 1½ cups of oatmeal to 2 cups water and 2 cups milk - you decide - I would add enough milk powder to make 2 cups of milk and then add 4 cups water.}

PS It does well for taking on camping trips as well.

Slow Cooker Oatmeal Recipe

1½ cups rolled oats
1/3 cup sultanas
2 cups milk
2 cups water
1. Put it all in the slow cooker.
2. Give it a quick stir. Put lid on.
3. Ensure slow cooker is on the ‘low’ setting.
4. Put timer on, so that it starts cooking 4-4½ hours before you want to eat.
This is enough for 4 to 5 people.
You may need to experiment a little to get it exactly to your own liking.
Put on last thing before you go to bed.
Don't leave longer than overnight uncooked or the milk will go off.
